莱赛尔面料， commonly known as "Tencel," is a type of cellulose fiber material.
1. Originating in the late 1990s in Europe and America, lyocell fabric is a generic term for cellulose fibers produced by the organic solvent spinning process, as defined by the International Man-made Fibres Standardisation Bureau.
2. Raw Materials: Lyocell fabric is made from renewable resources such as bamboo and wood, which are pulped. The advanced technology employed results in a solvent recovery rate of up to 99.7%. This not only conserves energy and minimises environmental impact but also supports sustainable development.
3. The Term "Tencel": The term "Tencel" has become synonymous with lyocell in everyday language, despite it being a brand name. Lyocell produced by the Lenzing company is marketed as TENCELL (pronounced 'Tencel' in Chinese). Strictly speaking, only Lenzing's lyocell can be referred to as "Tencel"; other manufacturers' products cannot. However, due to the convenience of the term "Tencel" in Chinese, it is widely used regardless of the producer.
Advantages of Lyocell Fibre:
1. Environmental Friendliness: The primary advantage of lyocell fibre is its green credentials. Not only is the raw material derived from natural plant fibres, but there are no chemical reactions during processing, earning it the reputation of being a 'green' fibre.
2. Comfort and Durability: Lyocell fibre offers warmth like wool without static electricity or allergies, combined with the softness of cotton and the high strength of polyester, making it durable and comfortable to wear.
3. Aesthetics: Lyocell fibre has the luxury feel of a woollen fabric and the drape of modal, with a lustrous surface finish, making it suitable for women's garments.
4. Laundry Resistance: Lyocell fibre is anti-pilling and has a low shrink rate, making it easy to care for.
5. Handfeel: It possesses the smooth and soft touch of silk, and the dyeing and printing process results in good colourfastness.
Disadvantages of Lyocell Fibre:
1. Vulnerability to Snagging: Fabrics with a higher content of lyocell fibre are more prone to snagging and forming holes.
2. Care Requirements: Lyocell fibre requires gentle handling; it should be washed in cold water and not wrung out after washing, nor should it come into contact with acidic or alkaline detergents.
