either…or与主谓一致
1) 当either…or…用来连接并列主语、即构成“either A or B”
后面的动词通常与B保持人称和数的一致。试比较：
Either you brakes or your eyesight is at fault
要么是你的闸有问题，要么是你的眼睛有毛病。
Either your eyesight or your brakes are at fault
Either my father or my brothers are coming.
要么我父亲来，要么我弟弟们来。
Either my brothers or my father is coming.
2) 在一般疑问句中，动词提前，故应与either后的主语保持人称和数的一致。例如：
Is either he or you wrong? (试比较：Either he or you are wrong..)
Is either your father or you brothers coming? (试比较：Either my father or my brothers are coming.)
3) Quirk 等人在论述either…or后面动词与主语的一致时指出：
If the number alternatives for the verb are both felt to be awkward, speakers may avoid making a choice by postponing the second noun phrase or sometimes by substituting a modal auxiliary.就是说，谓语动词与第二个主语保持一致时有时会显得别扭，所以常常见到把第二个主语移到后面作为分句或采用情态动词的做法。例如：
Either your brakes are at fault or your eyesight is.
Either your brakes or your eyesight may be at fault.
Either my wife or I will be going.(either my wife or I am going.则显得有点别扭)
