responsibility多强调责任，感情上必须做的事，如果不做，就感觉不好意思，丢面子，或者被人职责。多有情感纽带。比如家庭责任，长辈责任，老师责任，兄长责任等等。
obligation多指义务，不管你什么感情，你什么想法，你不做就要挂的那种事情。比如你捡到钱包，你不想给，但一旦被人发现查到，那就不管你什么面子，情感了，你百口难辨了。你有义务上交有关部门。或者直接联系受害者。再比如你和你老婆离婚了，孩子判给了女方，你很不高兴，但法院规定男方还必须每月给孩子提供一定的经济支持，这时候你就是再不愿意给，那也得给，因为这是义务，不是情感的事情。虽然也有点责任，但更多的是义务，是obligation.
